RockyMounts RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2020 Acura MDX- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we'll be taking a look at how the RockyMounts AfterParty swing away bike rack fits on a 2020 AC Acura MDX. So the RockyMounts AfterParty is pretty much the RockyMounts GuideRail dual wheel mounted bike rack that can also swing away. We're gonna focus on the Acura MDX, mainly how much clearance do we actually get and how much can we carry on this rack It has a 60 pound per bike weight capacity. If you need to open up the hatch like the GuideRail, you have to tilt that down which means you have to lift all that weight on your own. And if you don't have this fully maxed out with that 60 pound per bike weight capacity that can be a pretty heavy lift. more

So first things first is this going to be a two or a one bike platform style rack. So the one you see here obviously is the two bike version. It's going to be able to get two bikes to and from your destination, but it's really going to be for your road bikes or your mountain bikes. RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 acura MDX RKY10222- Video
Today on our 2016 Acura MDX, we're going to be doing a test on the Rockymount's WestSlope platform style two bike rack.As you can see, I've already got it in place here, just give you a good idea what it looks like on our MDX.What's unique about this bike rack is it holds our bike only by its tire, there's no frame contact. We don't need to worry about any scratches or abrasions caused by any frame hooks or anything like that, it holds our bikes by their tire. In the rear, we've got a wheel strap going over that tire to keep that in place. Again, no frame contact. It's the perfect way to haul around a carbon fiber bike.It also tilts away so we can gain access to that rear hatch, like most premium style racks, we can pull out that pin, it tilts away, we've got more than enough room to remove any of that cargo gear, groceries, anything we might have with us on our trip. As you can see, it opens up, more than enough room. more

Today on our 2019 Acura MDX, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. That's part number HR1450Z.Now, right away, I've already got it loaded it up just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. This bike rack, you can put two add-ons on the back of it. You can put a cargo carrier, so you can carry two bikes and some extra cargo, or you could put a two-bike extension on the back of it, allowing us to carry a total of four bikes. Now, you can pick all of that up as a kit right here at etrailer.com, so be sure and check that out if you're interested.Now, it holds our bikes by their top tube. That rubber-coated hook goes over that top tube, puts down pressure into the cradles, and then a hook and loop strap keeps our bikes in place. more

Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Today we have a 2016 Acura MDX. We're going to be test fitting the Yakima RidgeBack bike rack, part number Y02457. This bike rack secures the bicycle by three points of contact, two on the top post, one on the seat post tube. They're secured by these clips. To install the bicycle on the rack, you would first remove all three clips, place your bike on the rubber cushions, and push down and secure the clips. To remove the bicycle, all you would need to do is remove all three clips and simply take it off the rack. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX TH9034XT- Video
Today we have a 2016 Acura MDX. And we're going to be test fitting the Tooly T2 pro XTB, part number TH9034XT.This is a platform style bike rack and it uses two points of contact to secure the bike, none of which are on the frame. To install the bicycle, the first thing you would do is take the tire hook and extended it all the way forward as much as you can go. And the rear tire strap, go ahead and disconnect that and then do you'd simply set your bicycle in the rack, making sure that your front tire is in the larger cradle. And making sure that the rear cradle is centered on the rear tire like so.Now, while holding your bicycle, simply take your tire hook, move it as far forward as you can without hitting the break or your front forks. You simply push down on it and get it nice and tight. more

Hello. Today we have 2016 Acura MDX and we're gonna be test fitting the Hollywood Trail Rider dual back rack, part number HR200Z. Now we have the bicycle and the rack set up on this Acura to give you a nice idea of how things will look. For our first steps, we'll show you how to install the bicycle on the rack. The first thing you'd wanna do is adjust your cradles here with these knobs, they actually slide, for the length of your bike. You can snug those down.What you'd wanna do next is set the bicycle in the cradle, and using the top frame support go ahead and push down on it and it locks in to keep it nice and secure. more

Today on our 2016 Acura MDX, we're gonna be doing a test vid of the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Platform style Two Bike Rack with Cargo Carrier. That's part number HR1450Z-85. So I've already got it in place on the MDX just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. Now this is the cargo carrier is included. It's about a 52 by 15 inches by 5 inches deep, so it's gonna be more than enough room to carry all that gear along with your two bikes.Now with it attached to the bike rack, you have a 90 pound weight capacity, you can also use it by itself. So that increases the capacity to about 220 pounds. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2015 Acura MDX, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Inno Aero Light four bike rack for inch and a quarter, and two inch hitches. That part number is INH640. Now we have a bike installed, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. So to start, looking at this really nice integrated cable lock system which comes from the base of the bike rack, you can wrap it around the frame of your bikes and then it inserts into that little notch right there. When you want to unlock the cable, all you've got to do is push up that tab. You get the insert for your key. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 acura mdx- Video
Today in our 2016 Acura MDX we're going to be test fitting the CURT 4-bike platform rack, part number C18086. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now the first and most prominent feature about this bike rack is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with all the bikes attached. To do that you'll come up to the front here and you'll see that there's two pins and clips on the inside. You're going to remove those and then it will be able to tilt. So lift up just a little bit, remove the larger pin and do the same with the smaller, let it tilt away. And with that, you now have full access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need and plenty of space on either side to do so, thanks to the distance between the bumper and the bike rack itself. more

We have this large frame hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure into our front wheel cradle, keeping that in place. Then, a rear wheel strap going over our wheel making sure that are our wheel does not come out from the tray. All in all, there is no frame contact with this bike rack. One of its best features, though, is that it has the ability to tilt away from our vehicle with bikes loaded, so we can gain access to our rear hatch. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video
Today on this 2011 Acura MDX, we're going to be test-fitting the Saris Bones 2-Bike Rack, part number SA882. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How it attaches to the rack, you're going to have 3 points of contact with your bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up top here and one off to the side which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep it from hitting onto the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To do that, just push down on this little tab here and then just pull it out. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2016 Acura MDX, we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Pro 4 bike platform style rack, part number TH9034-36. Now we have a bike loaded up on our rack as you can see. It's going to attach at 2 points the tire in the front and across the rim at the back. It's not going to make any attachment to our frame therefore we're not going to harm our frame rails. Now one nice thing about this rack is once it has bikes on it you can tilt it down simply squeezing in on this gray release and you're going to let it down and that will allow us access to the back of our hatch. Now if you've got everything out of your hatch close it back up. Now you want to keep in mind if you have 4 bikes on here you definitely want to grab with 2 hands and you're going to lift it back up into position, listen for that snap and that's going to let you know that it is locked in position. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX TH9031XT- Video
Today on our 2016 Acura MDX we'll be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Swinging 4 bike rack. That's part number TH9031XT. I've already got it loaded up on the MDX just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. It secures our bike in 3 spots. We have 2 straps for our top tube, and then for our seat post tube, we've got our anti-sway cradle and our anti-sway strap. It's going to help prevent a lot of the sway in the bike while we're on the road as well as prevent bike to bike contact, and bike to vehicle contact. One of the main features about this bike rack is it has the ability to swing out so we can gain access to our rear hatch. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2016 Acura MDX, we'll be doing a test fit of the Swagman Dispatch Platform Style 2-Bike Rack, that's part number S64684. I've already got it loaded up on the back of the MDX, just to give you a good idea what it looks like. Another nice thing you might like to know about the dispatch is, as it is, RV approved. You can take it out on your RV if you'd like. It secures our bike in three spots. We have this nice, big frame hook here that puts down pressure on our top tube and to our front and rear cradles. more

I've already got it loaded up on the MDX, just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like. It secures our bike in two spots. We have this nice big wheel-hook here in the front, putting down pressure into the front cradle here. We also have a rear wheel strap. All-in-all no frame contact. more

Softride Element-Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Today, in our 2016 Acura MDX we'll be doing a test for the softride element parallelogram that's part number SR-26248. I've already got it loaded up on the MDX just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like. It secures our bike in two spots we have these two straps going over our top two securing it in place. One of the greatest features about this bike rack is that it's one of the very few bike racks that we carry that actually tilts out away from the vehicle with the bike loaded. We'll come over here to this black t-pin, and we'll just pull it out. Once we pull it out, we can rotate it down so we can get into our rear hatch. You can see once we have 4 bikes on there we'll still be able to tilt it up, remove any cargo gear, groceries and anything we might have with us on our trip. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2016 Acura MDX we'll be doing a test of the Saris Bones Hitch 2 Bike Rack, that's part number SA882. I've already got it loaded up on the Acura just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like. It secures our bike in three spots. We have two straps for our top tube. For our seat post tube we've got one strap here. This is going to be our anti-sway strap. It's going to help prevent a lot of the sway in the bike while we're on the road, as well as prevent bike to bike contact and bike to vehicle contact. Let's go ahead and take our bike off. more

Swagman XTC4 Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2016 Acura MDX we'll be doing a test for the Swagman XTC4 platform style 4 bike rack. That's part of our s64665. I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea what it's going to look like. It secures our bike in 3 spots. We have this frame hook putting down pressure on our top tube into our 2 wheel cradles, front and rear. Then we have a rubber strap going between our spokes keeping our wheels in place. Let's go ahead and take off our bike. more
